The Faculty of Islamic Studies and Teacher Education (FAIPG) of Universitas Djuanda participated in the coordination meeting for the preparation of the implementation of the ISO 21001:2018 Management System organized by Universitas Djuanda (UNIDA) on Friday, January 17, 2025. The activity took place in the ATJ Meeting Room of UNIDA and was attended by the entire university leadership, including the Chancellor, Rector, Vice Rectors, Deans, Heads of Institutions, and Heads of Study Programs across UNIDA.
The meeting featured two main speakers: Prof. Dr. Tulus Suryanto, M.M., Akt., C.A., and M. Ainun Najib, S.E., M.M., who serves as an External Audit Assessor from PT Decra Group Indonesia. Both speakers delivered strategic insights on strengthening educational management systems and the mechanisms for implementing ISO 21001:2018 within higher education institutions.
In his remarks, the UNIDA Chancellor, Prof. Dr. H. Martin Roestamy, S.H., M.H., emphasized that implementing ISO standards is a major step for UNIDA in advancing toward internationalization. He highlighted several priority university programs, including strengthening SDGs-based research, preparing for international accreditation, and developing maritime studies through collaboration with BAKAMLA.
Meanwhile, the Rector of UNIDA, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hj. R. Siti Pupu Fauziah, M.Pd.I., stated that the implementation of ISO 21001:2018 aligns with UNIDA's vision to achieve international standards by 2025. She expressed optimism that the entire preparation process would progress smoothly in accordance with the university’s strategic plan (RENSTRA).
During the presentation session, Prof. Dr. Tulus Suryanto, M.M., Akt., C.A., underscored the importance of technological adaptation for higher education institutions to remain competitive globally. He emphasized that UNIDA, guided by its core values of tauhid (oneness of God), has strong potential to become a national role model in higher education governance.
In the same session, M. Ainun Najib, S.E., M.M., explained that ISO 21001:2018 is an international standard focusing on management systems for educational organizations, ensuring that institutions perform optimally in delivering quality educational services.
As part of strengthening the educational quality management system, the event also included the Socialization of Research Guidelines and the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS/K3) Research SOPs. This session highlighted the importance of standardizing research procedures for all academic members, covering research ethics, research implementation stages, risk management, and safety practices in various research environments.
The dissemination of research guidelines and Research OHS SOPs is an integral component of ISO 21001:2018 implementation, supporting the development of safe, structured, and compliant research processes that meet international standards. With these guidelines, faculties and study programs are expected to plan and conduct research activities more systematically, accountably, and in line with existing regulations.
The participation of FAIPG in this activity represents the faculty’s commitment to enhancing the quality of educational services, research, and academic governance. Through the preparation for ISO 21001:2018 implementation and the strengthening of understanding regarding research guidelines and Research OHS SOPs, FAIPG remains dedicated to continuously improving educational quality and providing the best services for students.
