PGSD FAIPG Students Learn About the Teaching Profession with the Chairperson of IGI Bogor Regency

The Elementary School Teacher Education (PGSD) Study Program of the Faculty of Islamic Studies and Teacher Education (FAIPG) held a teaching practitioner session by inviting the Chairperson of the Indonesian Teachers Association (IGI) of Bogor Regency, Kusma Gumarang, on Friday, May 22, 2026. The activity was conducted as part of the Teaching Profession course taught by Dr. Rusi Rusmiati Aliyyah, M.Pd..

This teaching practitioner activity aimed to provide students with direct insight into the teaching profession and the challenges of education in the current era. In his presentation, Kusma Gumarang explained that the teaching profession plays an important role in shaping the character and future of the younger generation. According to him, a teacher is not only responsible for teaching but also for educating, guiding, and becoming a role model for students.

In addition to discussing the role of teachers in education, students were also given an understanding of the importance of improving competencies, adapting to changing times, and utilizing technology in the learning process. The material was delivered interactively, allowing students to gain a closer understanding of real conditions in the educational field.

The activity was conducted enthusiastically through discussion and question-and-answer sessions between students and the speaker. Various topics were discussed, including teaching experiences, challenges in the teaching profession, and readiness to become professional educators.

Through this teaching practitioner activity, PGSD FAIPG students are expected to gain a broader understanding of the teaching profession and become motivated to be professional, innovative, and high-integrity educators in the future.
