The ASEAN Academic Association held an International Conference in Melaka, Malaysia. Present as a speaker at the ASEAN Academic Forum, Young Lecturers at Unida's Islamic Education Management Study Program explained strategies for preventing bullying in the educational environment.

Located at the Mudzaffar Hotel Ayer Keroh, Melaka, Malaysia, on Thursday (4/07/2024) the ASEAN Academic forum took place.  On this occasion, one of the Young Lecturers at Juanda University, Dr Irman Suherman, M.Pd. also as Chair of the Internal Quality Assurance Agency had the opportunity to explain the Urban School Climate (USC) Model as a Prevention of Bullying in Educational Institutions.

Increasingly increasing violence and bullying in educational institutions is making all parties anxious and panicked. Current cases of violence and bullying do not look at educational level or age. In fact, student behavior has become brutal so that violence perpetrated by students against teachers is now occurring. It is necessary to develop the atmosphere, environment and patterns of interaction between school members (School Climate), especially in supporting the realization of the Urban School Climate (USC) model in urban schools which are prone to violence and bullying.

In his presentation, Dr. Irman Suherman, M.Pd. said that the environment and interaction patterns in Urban School Climate (USC) are described in 4 dimensions, namely 1) safe environment, 2) teacher support, 3) individual social relationships and 4) family atmosphere.

"A school environment that still has bullying, teasing and discrimination against students means that school principals, teachers, including parents, must involve themselves in efforts to build a good school climate," he concluded.
