Last Updated: 4 months ago

MELAKA, January 28, 2026 – As part of the implementation of the Tridharma of Higher Education through the International Visit & Academic Program (Batch 6), lecturers from the Faculty of Islamic Studies and Teacher Education (FAIPG), Universitas Djuanda (UNIDA), conducted a courtesy visit and strategic academic activities at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Cawangan Melaka. The second day of the visit, held on Wednesday (28/1/2026), featured a series of intensive agendas, including a Courtesy Visit, a seminar entitled “ASEAN Issues,” and an Academic Workshop.

The activities at UiTM Melaka marked an important milestone in the implementation of the theme “Strengthening International Academic Networks in Malaysia.” Through in-depth discussions on contemporary issues in the Southeast Asian region and workshops focusing on curriculum development and collaborative research methodologies, the program fostered meaningful academic engagement between institutions.

Collaboration with UiTM Melaka is designed to significantly support the achievement of the Key Performance Indicators (KPI) of higher education institutions. The ASEAN Issues Seminar and Academic Workshop directly contribute to KPI 6 (Study Programs Collaborating with World-Class Partners) and KPI 5 (Lecturers’ Work Utilized by Society or Receiving International Recognition).

Furthermore, the exchange of ideas within this forum represents a concrete manifestation of the Impactful Campus Program (Kampus Berdampak), in which higher education institutions go beyond theoretical discourse and actively formulate solutions to regional ASEAN challenges through cross-national academic perspectives.

The Dean of the Faculty of Islamic Studies and Teacher Education (FAIPG) UNIDA, Dr. Zahra Khusnul Lathifah, M.Pd.I., M.C.E., emphasized that this activity holds strategic value in strengthening the internationally oriented Tridharma of Higher Education.

“The visit to UiTM Melaka and participation in the ASEAN Issues Seminar represent an important momentum for FAIPG to broaden scholarly perspectives and strengthen international academic networks. This activity not only enriches the outlook of lecturers and students, but also encourages the realization of research collaboration and learning development oriented toward global and ASEAN regional issues,” she stated.

She further highlighted that the Academic Workshop made a tangible contribution to institutional quality improvement.

“Through the Academic Workshop, we gained insights into best practices in research management, curriculum strengthening, and learning innovation. This is highly beneficial for FAIPG in formulating a research roadmap integrated with Islamic values and the needs of the ASEAN community, while simultaneously enhancing lecturers’ competencies in developing contextual and internationally competitive teaching materials,” she added.

According to Dr. Zahra Khusnul Lathifah, M.Pd.I., M.C.E., this activity also serves as a concrete step by FAIPG in preparing graduates who excel academically, possess strong Islamic character, and are capable of contributing at the global level.

“Synergy with UiTM Melaka opens wide opportunities for FAIPG to develop lecturer and student exchange programs, collaborative research, and international publications. This is part of our commitment to producing graduates who are not only academically competent, but also ready to actively engage in the dynamics of education and socio-religious life in the ASEAN region,” she concluded.
