Group 9 of the Thematic KKN of the Faculty of Islamic Religion and Teacher Education (FAIPG) of Djuanda University (UNIDA) carried out the "12-year Compulsory Education Seminar and the Benefits of Organic Plants for Health" by presenting Dr. Rusi Rusmiati Aliyyah, M.Pd as FAIPG UNIDA Lecturer who is also the Field Supervisor (DPL) of Group 9 and Gian Lukisandy Kurniawan, MP from the West Java Provincial Food Crops and Horticulture Office as speakers. This seminar was held on Friday (11/08/2023) at Taman Baca Masyarakat, Ciadeg Village, Cigombong District, Bogor Regency.
Rahma Kartika, the Chairperson of the Committee, said that the 12-year compulsory education program, often referred to as the universal secondary education program, is a continuation of the mandatory 9-year education program; this is the performance program of Group 9 of the FAIPG UNIDA Thematic KKN in Ciadeg Village, along with the stunting alleviation program.
"In line with this, villagers need to realize that education is important. As for organic plants, this is a benefit and one of the steps to overcome stunting, so it is hoped that villagers can know and understand what organic plants are beneficial for health," he said during his speech.
In line with this, the Head of Group 9 of FAIPG UNIDA Thematic KKN Ujang Ahmad Fahrudin, said that good education can help form a person with integrity, responsibility, and good ethics. Of course, education and how health significantly influences creating a healthy person
Also present, Iwo, a representative of the Ciadeg Village government, expressed his gratitude to the FAIPG UNIDA Thematic KKN Group 9 for organizing the program through concrete activities.
"Alhamdulillah, we would like to thank the students and supervisors from UNIDA who have carried out KKN activities in Ciadeg Village. We hope that through these activities, the residents can better understand how important the interrelated aspects of education and health are," he said.
In the first material presentation session, Gian Lukisandy Kurniawan, M.P. explained the importance of maintaining food for consumption. He suggested consuming food that does not contain chemicals.
Foods not containing these harmful chemicals include vegetables and fruits grown with organic fertilizer obtained from goat, chicken, and plant waste.
"Good food is food that does not contain harmful chemicals," he explained.
Gian Lukisandy Kurniawan, M.P. pointed out that the impact of consuming random food that is not maintained can be seen in terms of growth and health conditions.
Furthermore, the second presentation, delivered by Dr. Rusi Rusmiati Aliyyah, M.Pd, explained government regulations regarding the 12-year compulsory education program.
"The 12-year compulsory education program is an urgency, which actually in this program there are already parties who guarantee. So, we need more awareness to convince ourselves that education is very important for the future," she said.
Dr. Rusi Rusmiati Aliyyah, M.Pd also discussed the factors that cause children to drop out of school and government and community strategies in implementing the 12-year compulsory education program.
"This compulsory education program aims, among others, to reduce unemployment, reduce poverty and reduce early marriage," he explained.
