The Primary School Teacher Education Study Program (PGSD) of the Faculty of Islamic Religion and Teacher Education (FAIPG) Djuanda University (UNIDA) participated in the Workshop and Award for the Association of Primary School Teacher Education Study Programs throughout Indonesia (PPS PGSDI) which was held on November 28-30 2024 at the Malioboro Hotel Ballroom, Yogyakarta. This event was attended by more than 80 participants from various universities throughout Indonesia.
These activities include an OBE (Outcome-Based Education) Based Curriculum Workshop, Sharing Session on Best Practice Study Program Management, as well as the Best Study Program Management Award in various categories. UNIDA FAIPG PGSD Study Program, represented by the Head of Study Program, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Helmia Tasti Adri, M.Pd.Si, was also a resource person in the Best Practice Sharing Session for Study Program Management, together with four other Study Program Chairs from various regions in Indonesia.
On this occasion, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Helmia Tasti Adri delivered material entitled "Best Practice: Increasing Study Program Achievement Through Great Programs Together, Success Together". In his presentation, he explained how the UNIDA FAIPG PGSD Study Program succeeded in improving the performance and achievements of lecturers through a spirit of togetherness and mutual support.
"Through harmonious cooperation and mutual support, we succeeded in overcoming various challenges and achieved achievements together, which also had an impact on improving lecturer performance evenly," he said.
UNIDA's FAIPG PGSD Study Program previously faced several challenges, such as low functional positions of lecturers, lack of research and service enthusiasm, and low student achievement. However, through effective strategies, including full support from university leadership and the formation of a joint achievement team, the FAIPG UNIDA PGSD Study Program succeeded in improving performance and achievement significantly.
Not only sharing experiences, this activity also ended with the awarding of awards to the best PGSD study programs in Indonesia. The FAIPG UNIDA PGSD Study Program won two awards, including National 1st Place in the Outstanding Student category and 2nd Place in the Best PGSD in Indonesia in the National and International Implementation of Independent Campus Learning (MBKM) category.
