Students from the Faculty of Islamic Studies and Teacher Education (FAIPG) at Djuanda University (UNIDA) Bogor, who are currently participating in an international community service program (KKN), held a knowledge-sharing event with students at the Islamsart Foundation School in Phatthalung, Thailand. This activity is a key part of the student service program, aimed at broadening Islamic knowledge and strengthening bonds between young people across countries. (08/15/2025)
The main material presented by UNIDA students (Muhammad Jindan, Tegar Pamungkas, Nolan Bisma) on this occasion was the Islamic calendar, a field of science that studies the journey of Islamic history since the time of the Prophet Muhammad.ﷺand the development of Islam in various parts of the world. UNIDA students delivered the material interactively, combining historical stories, exemplary values, and lessons the students could learn from them in their daily lives. This created a lively and enthusiastic learning atmosphere.
In addition to delivering the material, the students also engaged Ustadz Soleh, a student from Thamavitya Mulniti School who was doing an internship. He served as our translator, and engaged the students in discussions and Q&A sessions. Many students enthusiastically asked questions related to the history of the companions, the struggle for Islamic propagation, and the role of Islamic scholars in Southeast Asia. This activity was a crucial opportunity to foster a love of Islamic history and raise awareness of the importance of preserving Islamic identity and values amidst changing times.
The warm interaction between UNIDA students and those from the Islamsart Foundation School demonstrated that education is not merely a transfer of knowledge but also a means of fostering brotherhood among Muslims. The students' spirit of togetherness and enthusiasm demonstrated that this activity successfully inspired and motivated them to study religion, particularly Islamic history.
Through this activity, UNIDA FAIPG students not only carried out community service on an international scale, but also carried out a noble mission to strengthen Islamic brotherhood between Indonesia and Thailand. It is hoped that similar activities can continue in the future, so that young generations of Muslims in various countries can grow with strong knowledge, good morals, and a deep sense of brotherhood
