Last Updated: 7 months ago

Sukan Jaya, or Sports Week, is an annual event consistently held by Thamavitya Mulniti School, Yala, Southern Thailand, since 2001. This activity is one of the school's major events that is always anticipated by all students because it is not only a competition, but also a means of developing character, sportsmanship, togetherness, and creativity. In 2025, the implementation of Sukan Jaya is scheduled to last for six days, precisely on August 16-21.

The event was not only attended by students, but also enlivened by the presence of female students from Djuanda University who participated in several events. Their presence added a new dimension and strengthened the bonds of friendship and camaraderie across educational institutions. In addition to supporting the competition, the female students from Djuanda University also played a role in providing motivation and inspiration to the participants, making this event not only a competition but also a platform for collaboration and character building for the younger generation.

The event is divided into two sessions: the first three days are for male participants, and the next three days are for female participants. This division aims to ensure a more organized competition and provide equal opportunities for all students to showcase their talents and abilities. The Sukan Jaya competition series is divided into three main categories: in-class, on-field, and on-stage. The in-class competitions include various activities that hone concentration and thinking skills, such as cup stacking, chess strategy games, and table tennis, which requires dexterity.

The field competitions are filled with sports activities that emphasize teamwork and physical strength, such as: soccer, handball, sepak takraw, and volleyball. Meanwhile, competitions on stage are more about showcasing artistic skills, language, and self-expression, which include: speeches, poetry readings, news readings, storytelling, nasyid, and theater or drama. Sukanjaya is an activity "Preserving the values of mahad through sports" , said Ustad Arfan who was the MC at the Sukanjaya Thamavitya Mulniti School event. With these various competitions, the Sukan Jaya event not only presents a competitive atmosphere, but also becomes a forum for developing students' potential in academics, sports, and the arts. This activity every year always receives full support from the school, teachers, and the surrounding community. This year, the Sukan Jaya event was officially opened by a member of the House of Representatives, namely Sulaiman Benaepinae, who also expressed his appreciation for the implementation of activities that are able to strengthen brotherhood among students while instilling positive values in everyday life.
