The PGSD study program, under the auspices of the Islamic Religion and Teacher Education faculty, carried out community service activities in Malaysia in collaboration with PCIA Malaysia. This community service activity implements the MoU and MoA agreed upon in the previous year. Community service activities are carried out with students of the Kampung Baru Learning Studio, the children of Indonesian workers in Malaysia. The Kampung Baru Learning Studio students are one of several learning studios established by Muhammadiyah and several other organizations in Malaysia to help educate the children of Indonesian citizens in Malaysia. On this occasion, lecturers from the Faculty of Islamic Religion and Teacher Education of Djuanda University, Dr. Helmia Tasti Adri, M.Pd.Si from the Elementary School Teacher Education Study Program introduced educational games to Kampung Baru Learning Studio students. This is the target of the service because of the importance of learning while playing and having fun learning with students in several studios in Malaysia. Learning while playing will bring happiness to students.
This learning center has more than 50 students. These students are taught general and religious subjects. The teachers feel strongly called to preserve this center because of the importance of the future for students of Indonesian descent who do not attend formal schools in Malaysia for various reasons, especially related to documentation issues that may need to be fully taken care of by their parents. Despite barely providing adequate payments and salaries for the teachers, the organizers claim they will continue the learning center sometime. This is because students need this place to gain knowledge to crochet their future.
The uniqueness of this learning center is that it is located in a village in the middle of the city. This is unique because it is rare to find a town that is located right in the middle of the crowd. However, despite the public, students can still learn happily and focus. Mr. Supardi, as the principal, said, "We will fight for this school, because we fight not only for ourselves, but for the future of the nation's children". He said with tears in his eyes. The lecturer who carried out the service activity, Dr. Helmia Tasti Adri, said, "This studio is very extraordinary, its existence benefits all, especially for the children of Indonesian workers in Malaysia, hopefully studios like this will continue to grow and increase. This is important for the future of the descendants of Indonesian citizens in Malaysia, where this activity is fully supported by the Indonesian Embassy in Malaysia, "She concluded.
