Outreach activities delivered by students began with distributing flyers and quail eggs, followed by an interactive educational session which included material regarding the importance of maintaining the nutrition of pregnant women, exclusive breastfeeding, providing balanced nutrition for toddlers, as well as ways to maintain environmental cleanliness which can prevent disease. cause of stunting.
This counseling was accompanied by Midwife Yuni as the Midwife who works at the Lengkong Village Posyandu. "Well, ladies, please explain while you open and read the flyers that have been distributed." He explained to the mothers who were present. "So, stunting is prevented starting from the womb, pregnant women must take care of the nutrition they eat. Preventing stunting is easier when the child is under 2 years old, when the child is 2-5 years old it starts to be a bit difficult to prevent stunting, it's still possible but it's more the process is slow," he continued.
The counseling on preventing stunting that was carried out received a very good response from the mothers who were present at the Posyandu that day. The interactions that occur during counseling show how mothers actively ask questions and discuss complaints experienced by their children, such as children having difficulty eating, children defecating irregularly, and so on. This indicates that the outreach activities have been successful in gradually opening the minds of the mothers present regarding the importance of recognizing the symptoms and preventing stunting in children.
It is hoped that through this outreach, the people of Lengkong Village, especially mothers, will become more aware and more active in taking action to prevent stunting and be able to implement proper parenting patterns and provide proper nutrition for their children. In this way, the next generation can grow healthy and strong, and be free from the risk of stunting which can hinder their development in the future.
