UNIDA FAIPG KKN students held an Outreach Seminar, to build Financial Awareness

In an effort to increase public financial literacy, Djuanda University FAIPG KKN students held an outreach seminar with the theme "Building Financial Awareness: Preventing the Entrapment of Online Gambling, Illegal Online Loans, and Bank Emok" which was successfully held in Lengkong village, Watesjaya village, Cigombong. This event was attended by various levels of society, from students, workers, to housewives, who were interested in deepening their understanding of the importance of financial awareness in this digital era. The seminar which took place today presented a number of expert speakers in the field of finance, namely Dr. Hj Lilis Fauziah Balgis, SHI, MA.Ek and Dr. Muhammad Syukron Habiby, SHI ME. MM.

In his presentation, Dr. Hj Lilis Fauziah Balgis, SHI, MA.Ek emphasized the importance of having and building financial awareness amidst the proliferation of digital financial service offers which often ensnare people.

"Currently, our society is faced with various kinds of financial temptations that seem tempting, such as fraudulent investments, online gambling, illegal online loans, and emok banking services. However, without sufficient understanding, the risk of getting trapped in debt or losing significant money becomes very high," he explained.

Dr. Muhammad Syukron Habiby, SHI ME. MM, who was also a resource person at this seminar, explained the importance of independent financial planning, one of which is through Islamic Cash Flow Management.

"Islamic Cash Flow Management is divided into 5: 1. Pay debts max 30%, 2. zakat min 2.5%, 3. investment and emergency funds min 10% to 30%, must not contain MAGHRIB elements, 4. routine expenses 20 %-40%, and 5. lifestyle, maximum 20%," he said.

The enthusiasm of the participants could be seen from the interactive discussion. Many of the participants expressed their concerns about the increasing number of cases of fraud and debt bondage caused by ignorance or lack of information.

The chairman of RT 02 RW 05 Kp Lengkong, namely Mr. Sayuti, who was also present to support the organization of this seminar, emphasized that KKN students really care about fighting illegal financial practices and providing education to the community. 

"Hopefully in the future both students and young people will continue to hold activities like this to increase public awareness, because prevention is better than treatment," he said.

By holding this event, it is hoped that people's financial awareness will increase, so that they can avoid various financial risks that could be detrimental in the future.
