Students of the Community Service Program (KKN) of the Faculty of Islamic Studies and Teacher Education (FAIPG) of Djuanda University (UNIDA) Group 7 of Tanjungsari Village held a Sharia Financial Literacy Workshop through the "Si Abu" (The Wise Money Child) Program (11/08/2025)

SI ABU (Si Anak Bijak Uang) is a sharia-compliant financial literacy program aimed at elementary school students. The program aims to introduce the basic concepts of saving, managing pocket money, and distinguishing between needs and wants, all integrated with sharia-compliant financial principles.

The purpose of this activity is to introduce the basic concepts of finance and saving to children, to teach the values of honesty, trustworthiness, and thrift in managing pocket money, to instill an Islamic mindset in finance from an early age (for example, avoiding usury, the importance of zakat, etc.) and to encourage students to have the habit of saving regularly and responsibly.

A short welcome speech in the "Si ABU" (The Wise Money Child) Work Program is the initial part after the prayer reading which serves to convey goals, hopes, and gratitude in a concise but still warm manner delivered by M. Faiz Alfaruqi. The content of the welcome begins with a warm greeting to all students of class 6A. Next, the student briefly explains the purpose of the activity and ends with hopes and motivation so that students participate in the entire series of events with enthusiasm, and are able to apply the knowledge gained in their daily lives.

The "Si ABU" (The Wise Money Child) work program began with a prayer led by the 6A class president, as a first step to ask for the smooth running and blessings of the event. This was followed by a short opening remark by M. Faiz Alfaruqi, who expressed his gratitude, explained the purpose of the activity, and motivated students to participate enthusiastically.

The children participating in the "Si ABU" activity were enthusiastic and engaged from the beginning until the end. They paid close attention while watching video clips about finance and saving, and some even showed spontaneous reactions, such as smiling or nodding in understanding. During the financial literacy PPT presentation session, most of the children actively answered questions and shared personal experiences related to managing their pocket money. The creative activity of painting a piggy bank was the most engaging part for them, as it not only fostered creativity but also gave them a sense of ownership of their own personal savings account. Overall, the children responded positively to the entire series of activities. They not only enjoyed the event but also began to understand the importance of managing money and saving from an early age. This was evident in their statements during the question-and-answer session and their commitment to using the "Si ABU" piggy bank at home. This activity was deemed effective in instilling the concept of financial literacy in a fun and child-friendly way.

Activity "Si ABU" (The Wise Money Kid) is expected to produce several beneficial outcomes for both students and faculty. For students, this activity is expected to instill a basic understanding of financial literacy, such as distinguishing needs from wants, understanding the importance of saving, and being able to create simple plans for managing their pocket money. Furthermore, it is hoped that a positive habit of consistent saving will develop, supported by the use of the "Si ABU" piggy bank that they have decorated themselves as personal motivation.
