Stunting is a growth disorder in children caused by chronic malnutrition. Negative impact on children's physical and mental development. There is a problem of stunting that was obtained from PKK (Family Empowerment and Welfare) mothers, that in Cijeruk Village there are 30% cases of children approaching stunting.
The socialization that took place today presented expert speakers in the field of science, namely Mrs. Annissa Mawardini, S.St, M.Pd as a KKN Field Supervisor at Djuanda University in Cijeruk Village.
In her presentation, Mrs. Annissa Mawardni, S.St, M.Pd. Explaining that this socialization focuses on the community's understanding of efforts to prevent stunting through the importance of nutrition for pregnant women by consuming animal and vegetable protein, milk, bread, grains, fruit, vegetables and so on. Pregnancy checks need to be carried out at least 4 times by a midwife or doctor. Apart from that, stress in pregnant women is at risk of causing the baby to be born to experience stunting. Children's nutrition needs to be paid attention to in the first 1000 days of birth by paying attention to development through exclusive breastfeeding, foods with high protein, iron, calcium, sufficient fluids, stimulation of children according to their age and regularly monitoring children's growth at the posyandu. Therefore, stimulation of children according to their age needs to be monitored regularly for children's growth at the posyandu.
The priority of nursing mothers in the Islamic perspective is to be kept away from hellfire, to be rewarded for every drop of milk, to provide milk that is beneficial for their babies, and to be rewarded for jihad. As for in the Al-Qur'an, Surat Al-Baqarah verse 233
Meaning: Mothers should breastfeed their children for two full years, for those who want to complete breastfeeding. It is the father's duty to provide for their food and clothing in a proper manner. A person is not burdened, except according to his ability. A mother should not be made to suffer because of her child and a father should not be made to suffer because of his child. Heirs are like that too. If both of them want to wean (before two years) based on agreement and consultation between them, there is no sin on both of them. If you want to nurse your child (to someone else), there is no sin for you if you give payment in a proper way. Fear Allah and know that indeed Allah sees what you do.
The participants' enthusiasm was clearly visible through the interactive discussions. Participants actively asked questions and shared experiences, showing deep concern for their children's health. Many of them expressed specific concerns regarding the nutritional condition of their children and asked for suggestions and innovative tips for improving nutrition. Discussions cover a wide range of topics, from the importance of dietary variety to creative ways to serve nutritious food that appeals to children. Participants also emphasized the need for a better understanding of balanced nutrition and its important role in preventing stunting, showing a strong desire to implement this knowledge in everyday life.
It is hoped that this socialization on preventing and handling stunting in children from an Islamic and scientific perspective can provide the public with a better understanding of the importance of children's nutrition and health, as well as concrete steps to prevent stunting. Through this activity, it is hoped that the participants will be able to apply the knowledge gained in everyday life, so that they can form a healthier and smarter generation, in accordance with the values taught in Islam and supported by modern science.
