Bogor – A total of 65 students from the Elementary School Teacher Education (PGSD) Study Program, Faculty of Islamic Studies and Teacher Education (FAIPG), Djuanda University, participated in the "Ngamumule Basa jeung Budaya Sunda" Educational Tour in Bandung on Thursday, July 2, 2026. The activity was conducted as an outcome of the Regional Language Education and Arts and Cultural Education courses, aiming to strengthen students' understanding of the Sundanese language, arts, history, and culture through field-based learning.
The educational tour began with a visit to Saung Angklung Udjo, where participants learned about the history of the angklung as an item of intangible cultural heritage recognized by UNESCO. In addition to watching traditional Sundanese performances, the students also participated in an angklung workshop as part of their experiential learning activities.
The group then visited the Sri Baduga Museum to explore the history and development of Sundanese culture through its ethnographic collections, historical artifacts, and various cultural relics that represent the rich heritage of West Java.
The next destination was the Gedung Sate Museum, where the students gained insights into the history of West Java's development, the evolution of regional governance, and the use of digital technology in presenting historical information.
As the final destination, the group visited a Bandung souvenir center to learn about a variety of local cultural products and the region's creative economy. The visit provided an understanding of the relationship between preserving local culture and developing creative products with economic value.
The educational tour formed part of an experiential learning approach that connected classroom instruction with practical field experience. Through this activity, the students gained a more comprehensive understanding of the Sundanese language, arts, history, and culture, equipping them to integrate local wisdom into the teaching and learning process at the elementary school level.
