In order to enliven the holy month of Ramadan 1447 H, the Elementary School Teacher Education Study Program (PGSD) of Djuanda University organized a religious development activity for its lecturers on March 7, 2026. This activity aimed to strengthen faith, foster a deeper love for the Qur’an, and reinforce Islamic brotherhood within the academic community.
The event began with opening remarks from the Head of the PGSD Study Program, Dr. Helmia Tasti Adri, M.Pd.Si. In her speech, she stated that the Ramadan activity served as an important momentum for the academic community, particularly PGSD lecturers, to draw closer to Allah SWT through more intensive interaction with the Qur’an. She also emphasized that the activity was not only intended to enhance spiritual quality, but also to strengthen Islamic brotherhood among the lecturers in an atmosphere of togetherness filled with blessings.
On this occasion, Dr. Helmia Tasti Adri also delivered her farewell to all PGSD lecturers as she had been entrusted with a new responsibility as the Vice Dean I of the Faculty of Islamic Studies and Teacher Education (FAIPG) at Djuanda University. In a warm and familial atmosphere, she expressed her gratitude for the cooperation and togetherness that had been established during her leadership of the PGSD Study Program.
In addition, the event also introduced the new Head of the PGSD Study Program who will continue the leadership of the program in the future, namely Dr. Wiworo Retnady Riashayu, M.Pd. It is hoped that the new leadership will continue to advance the PGSD Study Program and strengthen its contribution in producing outstanding and well-characterized elementary school teacher candidates.
Following the remarks, the activity continued with a Qur’an recitation session titled “Development of Qur’an Reading Skills for PGSD Lecturers.” This activity was designed as an effort to improve the quality of Qur’an recitation among lecturers while also strengthening the culture of Qur’anic literacy within the PGSD Study Program.
The series of activities was then continued with a religious lecture (tausyiah) delivered by Ustadz H. Muhammad Ichsan with the theme “The Virtue of Honoring the Qur’an for Humanity.” In his lecture, he reminded participants that the Qur’an is not merely a holy book to be read, but also a guide for life that must be honored, understood, and practiced in daily life.
The Ramadan activity concluded with a collective prayer, expressing the hope that the entire series of activities would bring blessings, strengthen faith, and provide renewed spirit for the lecturers in carrying out their roles as educators and mentors of future generations. Through this activity, the PGSD Study Program of Djuanda University hopes to continuously cultivate a strong spiritual culture within the academic environment, so that Islamic values can be internalized both in personal life and in the implementation of educational responsibilities.
