Last Updated: 9 months ago

Students of the Community Service Program (KKN) of the Faculty of Islamic Religion and Teacher Education (FAIPG) of Djuanda University (UNIDA) Group 1 of Cibalung Village held a Literacy Outreach

With the theme Pustaka Asa: Sowing Literacy, Spreading Inspiration (05/08/2025)

Literacy is a crucial foundation for building a superior generation. However, limited resources, such as adequate libraries, are a major obstacle. In KKN partner schools, libraries are not yet optimal in terms of facilities and management. Therefore, we took the initiative to revitalize these reading rooms to become comfortable and inspiring literacy centers for students.

Rini Farida, M.Pdconvey appreciation in his speech

"I express my deep appreciation for this literacy outreach activity. This program aligns with the school's program and truly supports the development of literacy culture in our school. Furthermore, it is also beneficial for developing students' abilities," he said.

Imam Kurniawan, S.Pdas the speaker in his presentation emphasized

the importance of literacy skills for students, especially basic literacy which includes reading and writing, numeracy, science, digital, financial, and citizenship literacy.

"Indonesia's reading index is still relatively low. In fact, based on PISA scores, Indonesia ranks sixth out of eight ASEAN countries in terms of literacy," explained Imam Kurniawan.

Muhammad Nurfadilah, as the second speaker, in his presentation invited people to get used to reading.

"Let's start from something simple, get used to reading every day for 15 minutes," invited Muhammad Nurfadilah, a MMPI Unida student as a speaker to the students at the end of the counseling session.

The teachers' hope is that this literacy culture can be implemented and sustained until it becomes a routine culture at MTs Sunanul-Huda school.
