In an effort to strengthen the governance of student organizations and improve the quality of student work programs, the Faculty of Islamic Education and Teacher Training (FAIPG) conducted a mentoring and organizational evaluation session with the Student Executive Board (BEM) and Student Associations (HIMA) from the faculty’s five study programs. The activity was led directly by the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Dr. Helmia Tasti Adri, and was attended by all student organization administrators.
During the session, comprehensive discussions were held regarding various agendas and recent achievements of both BEM FAIPG and the HIMA organizations from the five study programs. Each organization was given the opportunity to present the progress of its work programs, evaluate activities that had been carried out, discuss challenges encountered, and outline plans for upcoming activities. The Chairman of BEM FAIPG, Fathur Ahmad Rajavi, stated that this mentoring activity served as an important momentum to strengthen communication and synergy between student organizations and the faculty. He also reaffirmed BEM’s commitment to continuously organizing activities that support the academic development, leadership, and creativity of students within FAIPG.
In her remarks, Dr. Helmia Tasti Adri, M.Pd.Si emphasized the importance of student organizations having clear program planning, orderly administration, and activity orientations that provide tangible benefits to both students and society. She also encouraged all student organization administrators to cultivate an organizational culture that is active, innovative, collaborative, and responsible. In addition to discussing work program evaluations, the forum also served as a platform for discussions on increasing student participation, implementing academic and non-academic activities, strengthening student leadership character, and developing strategies to make organizations more adaptive to student needs and developments in the field of education.
During the future program planning session, BEM and HIMA presented several strategic agendas that will be implemented over the coming months. These programs include seminars and workshops aimed at enhancing student competencies, student podcasts as educational and communication platforms, and comparative study visits to various universities to broaden organizational perspectives and strengthen inter-student networks. Furthermore, student organizations also plan to enhance collaborative activities among study programs and improve the publication of organizational activities through digital media so that their programs can reach a wider audience within the academic community and the general public.
As the final agenda of the current administration, BEM FAIPG and the HIMA organizations from the five study programs have also begun preparations for the leadership transition, which is scheduled to take place in June 2026. This event is expected to serve as an important moment of organizational regeneration, producing a new generation of leaders who are more progressive, creative, and prepared to continue the organizations’ programs in a sustainable manner.
The faculty has welcomed the planned agendas and hopes that all student organizations will implement their work programs optimally, professionally, and in ways that positively contribute to the development of student quality within FAIPG. Through this mentoring activity, it is expected that the synergy between the faculty and student organizations will become even stronger in supporting the creation of an active, innovative, and competitive academic and organizational culture.
