UNIDA National Education Seminar Discusses Enhancing School Counselors’ Capacity in Schools

Bogor, April 16, 2026 — Amid increasingly complex student challenges, the role of school counselors is required to be more adaptive and solution-oriented. In response to these challenges, the Faculty of Islamic Studies and Teacher Education (FAIPG) at Djuanda University (UNIDA) held a National Education Seminar titled “Enhancing School Counselors’ Capacity in Delivering Effective, Adaptive, and Solution-Oriented Counseling Services in Schools.”

This event, which is part of the 39th anniversary celebration of Djuanda University, was conducted online via Zoom Meeting on Thursday (April 16) from 09:00 to 11:30 WIB. It was open to teachers, education practitioners, and students.

The seminar featured two distinguished speakers in the field: Prof. Dr. Uman Suherman AS, M.Pd., Professor of Guidance and Counseling at Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia, and Prof. Dr. Hj. R. Siti Pupu Fauziah Roestamy, S.Pd.I., M.Pd.I., Professor of Guidance and Counseling Management at Djuanda University. The session was moderated by Dr. Muhammad Rendi Ramdhani, S.Pd.I., M.Pd., Head of the MPI Study Program at UNIDA.

Through this seminar, FAIPG UNIDA aimed to provide a platform for discussion and capacity building for school counselors, enabling them to address the dynamic development of students in the modern era. Counseling services are no longer merely conventional but must adapt to social changes, technological advancements, and the psychological needs of students.

In addition to gaining academic insights, participants also received various benefits, including e-certificates, expanded networking opportunities with fellow teachers and education practitioners, up-to-date and practical materials, and information on scholarships.

This event was also supported by the Guidance and Counseling Bureau of Djuanda University as part of the institution’s commitment to improving the quality of educational services, particularly in the field of guidance and counseling.

Through this seminar, Djuanda University hopes to contribute to developing more professional and responsive school counselors who are capable of providing solutions to various student-related issues in the school environment.
