Last Updated: 1 year ago

Three Elementary School Teacher Education (PGSD) students at Djuanda University (UNIDA) took part in the INCO Project program and carried out teaching practicum at Cempaka International School, Damansara, Malaysia from 17 February 2025 to 15 March 2025.

The INCO Project program is implemented by teacher education students from Djuanda University in Indonesia in collaboration with teacher education students from the University of Helsinki in Finland, the University of Eastern Finland, and UPSI University in Malaysia. Each university sent three selected students, so the total number of students taking part in this internship program was 12 students, with placement in each class having 2 students to do teaching internships in the class.

The INCO Project program aims to create innovative mobility opportunities and increase the value of international exchange among teacher education students in participating countries.

Prof. Dr. Rasmitadila, M.Pd, who is Deputy Chancellor III, was the representative of Djuanda University (UNIDA). "With this INCO Project Program activity, students will be able to understand and practice co-teaching in inclusive classroom learning. Apart from that, this program can increase cooperation and collaboration for students, lecturers and Unida, thereby increasing international networking and becoming more active in the global community," he explained.

"This INCO-Project program provided very valuable experience for me because during the activities I was able to learn and practice directly about how the Finnish Curriculum is implemented in schools," said a student who took part in the INCO Project program.

"This INCO program not only provides new experience and knowledge but also the opportunity for us to develop our own competence as teachers. Because apart from direct teaching practice, we also learn a lot about how to create a learning plan that is fun but still meaningful for students," added another student.

This INCO Project activity begins with online preparation, starting on January 20 2025 - February 10 2025. Then it continued with direct teaching practice at Cempaka International School Malaysia on February 17 2025. In the first week students carry out environmental observations and learning at Cempaka International School. In the second to fourth weeks, students begin to carry out direct teaching practice at Cempaka International School. The focus of the material taught is mathematics, but students also provide assistance in other subjects such as Islamic, Crafts, Home Economics and others. On the final day of the internship, all participants gather for a closing ceremony that marks the official end of the program. Then on Sunday, March 16 2025, the three INCO students returned to Indonesia.
