This digital literacy workshop provides an understanding of digital literacy in the Society 5.0 era to Cibalung 02 Elementary School teachers. In this workshop, teachers will gain knowledge about the importance of digital literacy in supporting learning and adapting to rapid technological developments. They will learn how to utilize technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), and Big Data to improve the quality of learning and integrate technology with educational values. This workshop will also equip teachers with the digital skills needed to guide their students in facing the challenges and opportunities in the Society 5.0 era.
In this era, teachers must have competence in 21st century learning, material that has been delivered by field supervisor Dr. Rusi Rusmiati Aliyyah, M.Pd, in delivering her material, said "there are 4 21st century learning competencies, namely critical thinking and problem solving, communication, creativity and innovation, collaboration.” By mastering these four competencies, teachers can create a learning environment that is more effective, interactive and relevant to students' needs in the Society 5.0 era. This competency also helps teachers to continue to develop and adapt to changes in technology and future educational demands.
Dr. Rusi Rusmiati Aliyyah, M.Pd, said that the implementation of digital literacy in elementary schools faces several challenges. One of the main problems is limited access to technology, where many schools do not have adequate equipment such as computers and internet access. Apart from that, teachers' digital skills are also an obstacle because many teachers are not yet trained to use technology effectively in the learning process. Lack of resources and support from the government and other stakeholders also hinders the optimal implementation of digital literacy.
Dr. Rusi also highlighted that the development of 21st century competencies in elementary schools faces various obstacles. Teachers often do not have a deep understanding of competencies such as critical thinking, problem solving, communication, creativity and collaboration, which are the essence of 21st century learning. The existing curriculum does not fully support the development of these skills, and there is still a lot of focus on conventional learning methods . In addition, high administrative burdens also reduce teachers' time and energy to develop and implement innovative learning strategies
Dr. Rusi emphasized the importance of continuous training for teachers and support from all parties to overcome these challenges and ensure that students receive relevant and quality education in the era of Society 5.0
In this digital literacy workshop, members of KKN Group 8 Cibalung Village also provided direct practice regarding the use of digital literacy in the form of creating learning media using the Canva application, using the Duolingo application, using AI such as Wordwall, Metademolab sketch, and Patled.
Using the Canva application in learning media makes it easier for teachers to create more interactive and interesting teaching materials. Apart from using the Canva application, educators can also use the Duolingo application, where this application can help educators introduce foreign languages to students.
The use of AI in digital literacy can make it easier and help teachers in managing administrative tasks and so on. Using AI can also help teachers save time, increase knowledge, provide more personalized learning experiences, and support overall student development and create a good and positive learning environment.
