Students from the Faculty of Islamic Religion and Teacher Education (FAIPG) Universitas Djuanda (UNIDA) who are members of the 23 Thematic Real Work Lectures (KKN-T) group created a reading corner in an effort to increase literacy motivation for school children in Pasirmukti Village, Citeureup District, Regency Bogor on Wednesday, August 16 2023. The program aims to increase children's interest in learning in Pasirmukti Village by providing facilities and infrastructure in the form of a reading corner.
Pasirmukti Village itself is a village that has 4 elementary schools (SD) and 2 Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI). Where the level of children's interest in learning and going to school can be stated to be still low, due to the high number of dropping out of school after graduating from elementary school or only continuing to boarding school without attending school. In this way, the reading corner created in the KKN-T program can be proof of support from FAIPG UNIDA students in helping to increase children's motivation in learning and increase community enthusiasm in sending their children to school.
M Rifki Al-Munajar as Chief Executive stated that this reading corner was one of the efforts of the 23 FAIPG UNIDA KKN-T groups in helping the community, especially young children, increase their learning motivation and literacy.
"We hope that this reading corner can be used properly and can motivate the children of Pasirmukti Village to learn literacy so that the level of education in Pasirmukti Village can continue to increase," he said.
Meanwhile, the Head of Pasirmukti Village, Sumarni stated that as a member of Pasirmukti Village, he was certainly very happy with the presence of KKN-T members from UNIDA in the community because they were very helpful in many ways, especially in the business of creating this reading corner. The ideas and concepts are creative and very useful for the community here, especially children in the learning process.
On the same occasion, Anin as Chair of RW O6 Pasirmukti Village expressed his gratitude and was proud of the KKN members who were willing to help the community with education problems in Pasirmukti Village.
"This reading corner provides a new atmosphere and more enthusiasm for children to be involved in learning, especially reading. "I hope this can increase awareness of education in society and motivate children to continue learning," he concluded.
